Voltage Divider Calculator. A voltage divider circuit is a very common circuit that takes a higher voltage and converts it to a lower one by using a pair of resistors. The formula for calculating the output voltage is based on Ohms Law and is shown below. R 1 is the resistance of the 1st resistor, measured in Ohms (Ω). Standard values of nominal resistance are taken from the E24 series for resistors with a tolerance of 5%, and E96 series for resistors with a tolerance of 1%. The values of the E24/E96 series are in accordance with "IEC publication 60063" Derating The power that the resistor can dissipate depends on the operating temperature; see Fig.2
Standard values of nominal resistance are taken from the E24 series for resistors with a tolerance of ±5%, and E96 series for resistors with a tolerance of ±1%. The values of resistors are of course quoted in Ohms (Ω), though with high values, Kilohms (KΩ) or Megohms (MΩ) are common units. With low values a circuit diagram may state a resistance value as for example 15R instead of 15Ω.
This app calculates the optimum resistor values for a voltage divider circuit, incorporating all resistors in the E12, E24, E48, E96 and E192 series.
Standard resistance values are obtained from the decade table by multiplying by powers of 10. As an example, 13.3 can represent Ω, 133 Ω, 1.33 kΩ, 13.3 kΩ, 133 kΩ, 1.33 MΩ. Document Number 31001 For technical questions, contact: ff2aresistors@vishay.com www.vishay.com Revision 04-Oct-06 335
of an LED, the next sized preferred resistor in the series should be chosen. The E12 series has a tolerance of ±10%, so a 1K resistor could have values between 900Ω and 1100Ω. The E24 series has a tolerance of ±5%, so a 1K resistor could have values between 950Ω and 1050Ω. This really means that the value of E24 series It's a 3D printable enclosure that takes all of your E24 series resistors. check it with a known 1% resistor near the values you will test (I have 5 values of .1% resistors in a box on the 8xsney.
